Hotel Quinta Mirabela

Quinta Mirabela is a small charming hotel,nicely decorated with amazing views. All receptionists were very helpful,answered all our questions,recommended very good restaurants and booked our trips for us that we enjoyed very much. There is a lot to like about this place,would go back anytime.

I don`t think there is anything we didn`t like about the hotel,we read all the reviews so we were prepared for the bell ringing at 8am and dogs barking that came with it,but we didn`t mind it,we slept very well. We walked to town once,but found buses much quicker and efficient. We used a taxi from town once when it was raining all day and buses weren`t running it cost us 7 euros. Walking from the bus stop to the hotel wasn`t easy the first time,but our legs got used to it and it wasn`t a problem. We had several evening meals at Quinta Mirabela,but the menu wasn`t varied,a lot of fish on the menu,so we prefered to eat at different restaurants. Over all we had a very nice time thanks to the stuff and lovely people of the island of Madeira.

I stayed for 6 nights. The staff was fantastic, the views were excellent, the spa is very nice after walking up and down the mountains. It is a little bit up in the hill but that makes it genuine and makes you walk and fantastic views, good sunsets!!

The hotel was very nice in terms of appearance w/ amazing views. Upon arrival hotel staff extended a friendly greeting and were very helpful in getting us quickly checked-in and into our room as soon as possible (despite our early arrival). The room was a nice size and the overall hotel facilities were well maintained and modern. The hotel has a very modern and sophisticated feel with clean lines and minimal but chic furnishings. I was surprised to find that the hotel had a pool as this feature was not noted on their website or the booking site. Hotel staff was very professional and helpful in terms of providing everything from restaurant recommendations, to arranging cabs/drivers, and providng directons to the local bus stop.

While I appreciated and made use of the hotel shuttle service (which takes guests to the center of town) I wish it ran more frequently. During my stay the shuttle only drove into and out of town twice daily.

Very comfortable hotel, great conditions and an excellent view over Funchal!

You need a car to travel anywhere, and the access is quite tricky.
